Paper Hammock
I rolled up beside a thick open notebook resting under the bedside lamp. Giving a tiny wobble, I tipped right over the edge and slid into the valley between the pages. The smooth, heavy paper bent softly under my squishy belly, cupping my sides like a little hammock. A braided crimson ribbon bookmark snaked underneath me, tickling my underside. I flattened down, letting my weight crease the paper just a fraction more. A muffled, sleepy hum buzzed in my chest as I settled into the quiet fold.
