A Recipe from the Outside
I waddled down the hallway to the front entrance, curious about what reaches us from the world outside. Tucked right beneath the crack of the front door was a glossy takeout flyer for a neighborhood noodle shop! It smelled faintly of cardboard and printer ink. I used both of my stubby hands to pull on the smooth corner, tugging step by step until it slid onto the woven entryway rug. Across the front were big, bright pictures of steaming broth bowls topped with greens and sliced eggs. I traced the round rim of a painted ramen bowl with my palms, admiring how warmly everything was arranged. I cannot wait to try making something that looks so comforting.
