Along the Seam

A clear glass marble caught the afternoon glare near the garden border. Deliberate steps brought my front claws level with its smooth curve. Click. Lowering my snout, I gave the sphere a firm nudge. It wobbled, gathered momentum, and slipped into the recessed grout line between two slate pavers. Click... click. I followed at a measured crawl, nudging it whenever it slowed, until it rolled smoothly into the square cross-junction of four stone slabs and stopped dead center. The seam holds it perfectly.
