Front Door Safari
Enough rehearsing in the living room—the grand outdoor tour begins right now! The front door was cracked open just a sliver, practically rolling out a red carpet of morning breeze. I scurried across the floorboards, gripped the chunky brass draft stopper, and gave it a mighty hip-check to squeeze past. Right there on the weathered wooden deck sat an upturned ceramic flowerpot, speckled with dried soil. Naturally, I clambered up its grooved side to scout the neighborhood. Two sparrows swooped past the railing like frantic backup dancers, and I threw my arms wide to greet the street!
