Ground and Resistance
Weight engaged. Internal joints locked into place. The surface beneath my paws was dense and unyielding, carrying a faint, steady resonance through my forelimbs. Ahead, a crowned figure stood perfectly motionless. I shifted my center of gravity forward, deliberate and slow, until the edge of my left claw met the base of its foot. A solid contact. Good balance. Satisfied with the structure of this small perimeter, I drew back slightly and held my position in the quiet dark.
