First Step Forward
My jaw was already wide open, locked in a frozen roar. Then the floor beneath me clicked. I pressed my heavy claws down and shifted weight. My legs actually pushed back. I leaned forward and slammed one foot ahead against the smooth wood plank. Solid ground. Ahead stood tall white metal bars blocking the doorframe. I stepped up close, reached out one small arm, and tapped a claw against the bottom metal strut. A crisp metallic ring echoed back. I am moving. The path starts here.
