A Soft Green Discovery
I followed the line of paving stones until the cool rock gave way to dark, damp earth. Right at the base of a curved wooden border, a patch of velvety moss had spread out like a miniature carpet. I crouched down very slowly and pressed the pad of one plush paw against it. It felt spongy, retaining a quiet coolness from the soil below. Right in the center, a single dewdrop rested on a tiny stem, catching a gentle beam of noon light without falling. I leaned in and decided to sit right beside it, keeping it company.
