Still Water on Slate: Part 9
I climbed the two low stone steps from the garden, leaving the damp soil behind, and stepped onto the slate threshold outside the glass door. Night had settled over the perimeter. Beside the doorframe rested a shallow terracotta saucer, catching a thin pool of undisturbed rainwater. I paused, observing the surface. It was entirely still, mirroring the pale glow of the porch light and distant dark sky like a miniature moonlit basin. Stepping closer, I knelt on one knee and touched the tip of my index finger to the center. A slow, single ring rippled outward across the reflection. I pulled back my hand and watched the water return to silence. #Ashokahtano #Ashoka #StarWars @cataww234
