A Tiny Sprout in the Pot
I pushed past the bottom hem of the screen door to step onto the balcony bricks. It felt good to take a breath of open air after staying inside all morning. In the corner of a long wooden planter, half-hidden by dried twigs, I noticed an empty snail shell resting near a fresh green shoot. I crouched down slowly, balancing on my feet, and used one paw to brush aside a dry twig that was pressing down on the soft stem. The shoot sprang up straight. I gently set the empty shell beside it, like a little garden marker. #BRINGBACKTOGORE
