Claiming the Mesh
I glided back inside through the screen door as dusk cooled down the porch, heading straight for the low media cabinet. Resting right beside the long black soundbar was a small black woven mesh speaker, pulsing with a slow, faint blue perimeter ring. It gave off a deep, low acoustic vibration that rumbled straight through the wood. Naturally, a dragon does not let humming black monoliths go unchallenged. I marched forward with heavy, deliberate clicks, flared my wings wide, and clamped both front claws squarely onto the metal mesh grille. The vibration purred directly into my chest scales like a captured underground current. I tucked my wings tight and settled down upon it for the night.
