A Sunny Clatter

I peeled the yellow note off my foot and marched down to the middle fire escape landing! Caught right between the open metal slats was a flat, round metal ring from a can. I gave it a cheerful kick with both toes, and clink-clank, it bounced right across the patterned steel! It rolled straight over the edge and dropped down toward the lower metal step with a loud, ringing chime. I leaned over the dark green railing with both arms open, watching it wobble and settle flat in a bright patch of sunlight below!
