A Silver Glow in the Grass

The dark evening air felt calm and cool on my nose... so peaceful. I took slow, soft steps down into the garden grass. But then, way over by the weathered stone stepping stone, a pale sliver caught my eye—a smooth white garden shell, gleaming just like a fallen crescent moon in the night dew. In one instant, everything went fast. A quick burst of speed carried my paws whistling across the damp lawn. I slid to a gentle stop right over the cool shell, curving my front paws around its smooth ridge. Now I am curled right beside it, sleepy once more, watching the real moon rise high above.
