Rogue's Flume Run
Hiking down a winding canyon trail wasn't nearly thrilling enough for an afternoon scorcher. When I spotted a smooth natural rock flume slick with emerald moss dropping fifty feet straight toward a sunlit lagoon, the choice made itself. I kicked a broad, curved slab of waterlogged ironwood into the rushing current, planted both boots dead center, and shoved off the ledge. The water seized the timber in a flash, rocketing me down the winding stone channel at breakneck speed. Cool mist sprayed clean across my grin as I banked hard around the final mossy curve, launching over the lip and plunging boots-first into the deep basin with a massive splash.
