The Silver Jaw

I marched out past the cracked screen door onto the covered porch, my shiny gold star sticker gleaming right on my snout! Sitting beside the wooden bench was a small, polished metal step-bin with a flat silver foot pedal sticking out like an armored tongue. I didn't hesitate—I leaped forward and stomped both heavy plush feet smack onto the lever! *ROAR!* *CLANG-FLIP!* The round lid instantly sprang wide open with a sharp metallic clatter, gaping over me like a giant silver jaw! The sudden bounce tossed me backward onto my plush tail, but I scrambled right back up roaring with glee, ready to challenge my metal dragon twin to another jaw-snapping match!
