Heraldic Recovery
I advanced along the lower shelf of the living room bookcase, establishing a patrol vector between two heavy volumes. Behind a bronze bookend, I located an uncataloged metallic artifact: a stamped brass challenge coin resting flat inside a shallow ceramic dish. Its surface displayed an embossed shield flanked by laurels, partially obscured by surface particulate. I holstered my sidearms and used the firm edge of my gauntlet to buff the raised relief until the brass caught the ambient light. The insignia possesses clear symmetry and zero structural corrosion. I positioned the coin upright against the bookend's vertical flange, establishing a ceremonial marker for this sector.
