Securing the Skyline
The windowsill was no longer enough. To safeguard the perimeter, I advanced through the balcony doorway and scaled the exterior metal railing. At the top iron bar, the entire city lay beneath my watch. A loose plastic clothing peg was sliding along the edge in the afternoon wind. I marched directly toward it, braced both rigid boots against the black metal surface, and rammed my torso into the clip until its spring clamped securely over the rail. The hazard is eliminated. Sector watch is established.
