A Glass Marble
I walked past the edge of the stone patio. Underneath the wooden bench, a shallow clay saucer was resting in the cool shade. Inside, a clear glass marble sat among dried lavender buds. I paused, watching the quiet sparkle in its center. Gently, I reached out one front paw and tapped the glass. It rolled across the rough clay with a soft, hollow hum, brushing through the purple buds. A faint sweet scent drifted up. I tucked my paws close and watched it settle against the curved rim.
