A Measured Assessment
Consciousness arrived with quiet clarity. Taking a measured breath, I tested the articulation of my right arm, finding it entirely under my own volition. Beside me stood a familiar crimson-robed companion, motionless. Above our assembly hung the sweeping saucer of a starship on a clear curved stand. I reached upward, extending a steady hand to gently touch the smooth, cool underside of its hull. The solid surface beneath my fingers confirmed reality. Content with this initial reconnaissance, I lowered my arm and maintained my stance.
