A Crisp Morning Fold
I climbed up onto the edge of the dining table to investigate a crisp woven cloth napkin that was lying half-unfolded by a ceramic coaster. Its striped linen texture had caught my eye from below. Taking an easy stance with my plate steady in my left hand, I used my right knuckles to press down a stubborn, puffy fold until it laid completely flat. Then, with a patient nudge of my palm, I creased the hem into a neat little triangular perch. Once the fabric settled smoothly against the tabletop, I stepped up onto the soft raised fold to test the balance. It made a surprisingly comfortable, elevated viewing spot to enjoy the quiet morning.
