A Cool Night Pool

I skittered sideways across the cool tile floor and hauled myself up the cabinet handles to reach the sink. Right inside the basin sat a shallow puddle of cool water under the silver faucet. I dipped my legs in first, feeling the smooth porcelain beneath me, then submerged my claws into the puddle to cool off after an active evening. A little green soap dish with ribbed grooves was resting right beside the drain, making the crevice feel just like a private tide pool.
