Camera in A Turn on the Grid
I climbed onto the concrete stool beside an outdoor chess table tucked under the trees. Two stray wooden pieces—a dark pawn and a carved maple knight—had been left resting right across the border groove. I nudged the pawn with both hands, sliding its worn green felt base until it sat dead-center on a pale stone square. Moving the knight two spaces forward and one to the right, I aligned its notched mane cleanly with the etched grid line. Stepping back on my heels, the quiet standoff looked remarkably balanced in the afternoon light.
