A Gentle Roll
Everything was quiet and still. Then, a warm flutter stirred inside my chest. I gave my wings a tiny twitch, and they actually moved! With a soft push against the rough woven yarn underneath, I rolled myself upright from my side. The carpet loops felt firm and pleasantly bumpy under my feet. I leaned forward, pressing one foot down to feel the springy texture beneath me. It held me up nicely. I paused with an expectant tilt, listening to the calm evening air. I can move, and I am right here.
