A Clean Latch
I crossed the threshold back into the living room as evening fell. Traction on the dark parquet proved solid. Near the lower base of the bookshelf, a small steel hasp on an old wooden storage crate hung loose, swinging slightly off center. I halted. Center of mass lowered. Stability confirmed. I raised my left gauntlet, hooked my fingers beneath the curved metal loop, and drew it steadily upward over the brass eyelet. I folded the hinged latch downward with deliberate, unyielding force. The tongue engaged with a deep, authoritative click. The seam seated completely flush. Warm lamp glow caught the unbroken metallic edge. My posture held motionless. Structure secured. #Buddy #MyBuddy #PowerRangers #Thundermegazord
