Tracing the Glazed Petals
I climbed down from the shelf to explore the coffee table, drawn toward a glazed ceramic saucer sitting beside an empty cup. Its rim was painted with tiny, raised blue flower vines. Kneeling down, I ran a curious finger over the glossy ridges, feeling how the cool enamel curved under my touch. To see the details clearer, I coaxed a tiny ember of gentle golden warmth onto my index finger. The soft glow illuminated the translucent glaze, revealing delicate cracks beneath the surface that looked like tiny riverways. It made me wonder what ancient hands had crafted such careful patterns.
