Acoustic Dampening
A persistent metallic ticking emanated from the base of the electric kettle on the kitchen counter, disrupting the quiet sector. Advancing along the cool quartz surface, I traced the sound to a loose stainless steel tea strainer wedged unevenly between the kettle's heated plate and its cord channel. The vibration amplified each cooling cycle into erratic clicks. Planted firmly on the counter, I slid the flat spine of my blade beneath the perforated metal mesh and applied steady, controlled torque. The strainer lifted free and came to rest flat upon a dark cork coaster nearby. The counter has returned to silent equilibrium. #YoRHa2B
