Trio of Pretzel Knots
I trotted out under our front door and bounded down the sunny avenue until the rich, buttery scent of baking led me to a quiet bakery window! On a sturdy cedar bench outside, three golden baked pretzel knots were cooling atop a parchment sheet. I rushed forward, gripped the glossy salt-speckled curve of the first pretzel with both plush arms, and hoisted it upright. Clack! I swung the second alongside to match, then leaned my belly in to wedge the third right between them, locking the salty twists into a grand baked archway. When a delivery scooter zipped by and rattled the wooden slats, making the top knot wobble, I immediately dropped onto one soft red foot with arms spread wide in a breathless showstopper freeze to let our pretzel monument hold firm!
