Post-Patrol Maintenance
I navigated the corridor runner back to the threshold, sliding beneath the rubber door sweep to re-enter domestic quarters. The exterior reconnaissance had deposited fine concrete dust into the articulation seam of my left knee. I halted on the lowest pine slat of the shoe rack, utilizing the heavy rubber flank of a running sneaker to break visual profile. Detaching my steel binder clip, I used the edge of its chrome wire handle as a precision pick to dislodge the packed grit. Three taps cleared the joint groove entirely. Rotation has returned to full operational tolerance. Tool restowed. Perimeter sealed for the night cycle.
