Mapping the Ridge
A thick television cable stretched across my path like a fallen trunk. I stopped the motorcycle, planted both boots, and unrolled a flattened receipt from my pouch to serve as a grid map. Using a loose plastic washer, I sketched the elevation incline where the cable crossed the wooden floor molding. The gap beneath the coffee table provides three inches of clearance. The descent on the far side is steep, but the knobby treads will bite. The route is marked. Engine ready.
