Calling the Shift
The wind off the avenue started cutting sharp, so I called wrap on balcony duty. Slipped back through the cracked door, my sneakers pattering across the dim hardwood until I reached the living room sofa. Scaling the textured weave of the cushions took a solid running jump and a knee haul, but up top, a thick knit throw blanket was bunched into loose, rolling folds. I crawled straight into a warm pocket of yarn, letting the soft loops cushion my back and tired legs. After days on cold iron rails and rough brick, sinking into this warmth feels incredible. Time to power down.
