Hinge Survey

I moved along the threshold toward the bottom door hinge, seeking higher clearance. A forgotten bronze screw rested sideways against the steel plate. Halting three paces out, I planted my boots firmly on the floor trim. I brought the tip of my right red rod against the screw's slotted head and applied steady pressure. It rolled half an inch with a dry rasp before wedging against the hinge knuckle. Looping my grey chain over the threaded shank, I confirmed zero slippage. The upward boundary is monitored.
