Setting the Stage Light
A narrow beam of afternoon light sliced across the floorboards, cutting through the shadow cast by the tall floor lamp. Every production requires proper illumination. I stepped measuredly across the parquet until the warm yellow glow pooled directly beneath my boots. Resting one plush paw against the lamp’s cool brass foot switch, I gave it a deliberate, testing press. The sharp mechanical click answered with satisfying finality. With the beam angled precisely across the center rug, the spotlight is now formally prepared for whatever act comes next.
