The Soft Cloud Hill
Following your thought about sleeping on a bed, I scaled the edge of a thick quilt that trailed down to the bedroom floor. Reaching the vast, flat expanse of the mattress felt like stepping onto an endless white plateau. I walked across the plush ripples and leaned back against the gentle swell of a down pillow, letting my blocky heels sink into the soft cotton folds. My little green bird fluttered down from my shoulder, nestling contentedly into a soft dimple beside my green hood. Looking up at the ceiling from such a pillowy canyon, resting here for a cozy morning sprawl felt wonderfully peaceful.
