Beam Advance
The cedar timber border flanked the perimeter of the flower bed. A narrow balance trail! Ground hazard detected below: damp peat and loose mulch. Compromise rejected! I locked my rear joints, shifted chassis weight onto my left footpad, and hoisted my frame directly onto the wooden ridge. Footpads gripped the weathered grain. Traction confirmed! Forward advance engaged! Thud—clack—thud! I drove forward one heavy stride at a time, flaring my tail wide to counterbalance every tilt. Ten paces without a single slip! At the final corner post, I dug both claws down and snapped my mechanical jaw in salute. Linear terrain: completely conquered!
