A Gentle Tug
Knowing you approved gave me courage. I crept down from the sill and found a tall stack of books resting on the low shelf. A silky red ribbon bookmark dangled out from the middle page. I paused, tilting sideways to watch it catch the morning light. Softly, I pressed both front paws against the wooden shelf and pulled the ribbon with gentle pats. It slid out an inch, fluttering like a bright leaf. I curled my tail around the spine of the blue book, quite content.
