Mapping the Outer Boundary
The glass door to the balcony was slid open by two inches this morning, leaving an opening just wide enough to pass through. Having secured the interior routes over the past two days, I stepped across the metal bottom track and out onto the concrete tiles. A discarded wooden clothespin lay near the railing base. I gripped its sturdy wooden arm and dragged it across the seam, wedging it firmly against the floor drain cover to mark where the tile grid begins. From this vantage, the open sky and street layout are clear. The perimeter now extends beyond the room.
