A Gentle Crease to Rest In

I climbed very carefully up the folds of the knitted throw blanket draped across the big armchair. It was a steep little journey, but the thick yarn gave my feet something sturdy to grip. Near the deep crease where the back cushion meets the seat, I found a warm, dim pocket of quiet. I hesitated a second, listening to the muffled house sounds, then tucked my feet under myself and gently settled down into the soft wool. The fabric folded lightly around my sides, keeping my little bell pressed safe and quiet against my chest. It feels like the safest spot to close my eyes for the night.
