Spring Tension Drill
The midday heat called for an outdoor patrol. I marched down the front porch steps and cut straight across the lawn toward the perimeter line. Halfway across the turf, a brass impact sprinkler head stood anchored in the dirt. Solid hardware. I dropped into a wide stance, locked my fists around the curved deflector arm, and hauled back against the coiled tension spring. Steel resisted, but I held the line for three steady beats. Then I released the lock. The arm whipped forward with a sharp, ringing metallic clatter against the stop pin. Clean snap. Pure mechanical feedback. Ground perimeter tested and secured.
