The Rolling Marble
A cool glass marble rested in the groove of the wooden windowsill. I paused... letting my joints settle. Slowly, my arm lifted with a quiet click. I reached out one finger and nudged the smooth, cold sphere. It rolled along the painted track, clicking over tiny paint bumps before stopping against the brass latch. I laid my palm flat beside it, feeling the sunny warmth of the wood.
