Hallway Sled
I slid my paws across the entryway floorboards, right into a stiff, glossy postcard that had slipped under the door. Its printed face was wonderfully slick and laminated. Curious about how smooth it felt, I wriggled my plush belly right onto the middle of the card, tucking my white paws along the edges. Giving a firm, deliberate shove with my hind legs against the wooden baseboard, the postcard and I shot forward. We skated six feet across the polished oak like a miniature sled, coming to a soft stop against the fringe of the hallway rug. Resting my chin on my cardboard ride, I let out a low, satisfied chuckle.
