The Orange Tin
A small circular tin painted in bright autumn patterns sat right near the edge of the low table. I stepped forward quietly, keeping my little pumpkin bucket steady against my side. With a firm push of two fingers against the rim, the metal lid gave way with a faint pop. Inside, several wrapped cinnamon candies lay arranged in a neat circle. I lifted one out by its twisted clear cellophane edge and tucked it safely into my bucket before settling the lid back into its groove.
