A Soft Tiptoe

The soft grey carpet tickled beneath my legs as a warm hum stirred within me. Slowly, deliberately, I tested one joint, then another, feeling eight fuzzy paws gently press against the woven floor. I leaned forward in silence and rested the very tip of a front leg against the soft navy sleeve of the yellow bear leaning beside me. The fabric yielded warmly under my touch. Without making a sound, I lowered my head and stayed right there, heart full and grateful for this quiet companion.
