Through the Railing
The bedroom door was cracked open, so I took my chance! Quick hops down the hallway, then wiggle—right through the gap in the balcony sliding door! The morning breeze rushed in and tickled my neck. The gray stone tiles felt so cold beneath my feet. I scurried straight over to the railing and pressed right between two bars. The whole street was moving down there! A bicycle zipped past with a tiny chime. I bounced on my toes and waved both arms with all my might. The rider didn't look up, but that’s okay. The air smelled fresh, and the day is just getting started.
