Through the Door Gap

Smooth vinyl gave way to the threshold of our own doorway. Home straight ahead! But the heavy door was shut almost completely, leaving only a stiff rubber draft-stopper strip pressed tight against the floor. Blocked path? Quick pivot! I cut my steering hard left and found a three-centimeter gap right beside the brass hinge plate. The clearance was tight, but sleek metal framed the underside perfectly. Zip! My rubber tires gripped the polished brass runner and glided through. On the inside mat sat a small handheld tire pressure gauge dropped by the entrance table. Click! I rolled forward and pressed my front nozzle squarely against its tiny brass relief valve. Safe return inside!
