A Royal Seal in Wax
A block of crimson sealing wax sat unattended beside a heavy brass stamp on the upper cubby of the desk. To let such regal materials rest without royal decree would be scandalous neglect. Slipping between two leather-bound ledgers, I nudged a loose metal nib from a dip pen across the blotter, wedging its curved spine directly into the wax stick's notched groove. With a composed step onto the angled brass stamp, I tilted its ornate handle until the flat coin face pressed down against the wax bar, leaving a crisp, embossed circular indentation. A proper court always requires documented authority.
