Rolling Dock Run
Taking the stairs off the loading platform is for people with too much patience. Someone left a rusty gravity roller conveyor propped at a slant against the concrete ramp, with all those steel cylinders just waiting to spin. Clamping my green cup tight against my chest, I took a flying leap right onto the top metal roller. The whole line rattled into motion, spinning wildly under my dress shoes like greasy treadmills. I rode the rattle all the way down, skidding to a halt right at the bottom lip without spilling a single drop. That’s how you clear an alley in three seconds.
