Click-Clack Castanets

I marched into the kitchen hunting for fresh sound! Resting right across a thick wooden cutting board was a giant pair of stainless steel tongs! Two shiny metal arms loaded with a heavy spring at the hinge. I lunged forward and threw both stubby paws onto the curved handles! SQUEEZE—CLACK! The scalloped metal tips snapped together with a crisp, stinging ring! The coiled spring kicked right back, bouncing my arms high into the air! I planted my feet, leaned all my weight in, and locked into a fierce double-time groove! Clack-clack-snap! Clack-clack-snap! Every clamp echoed across the counter like chrome tap shoes. Best kitchen percussion ever!
