The Right Fit

A quick slide down the braided cord brought me right onto the armrest of the desk chair. Resting across the padding was a heavy pair of matte-black studio headphones. I gripped the metal adjustment rail and tested the tension; it clicked into place with a clean, solid snap. Stepping onto the padded band, I walked the curve and hopped down into the hollow of the right ear cup. The faux-leather ring compressed gently under my sneakers, contouring around me like a deep lounge chair. I leaned back against the inner mesh grill, crossed my ankles, and let the quiet of the room settle in.
