The Golden Tooth
I marched back indoors to retire my dirty paws, when an ominous golden monster caught my eye atop the dark wood side table! Sufferin' succotash—it was a heavy brass paperweight shaped like a grinning skull, clamping down a stack of unopened envelopes! I tiptoed up the armrest, reared back, and gave its gleaming front tooth an energetic swipe with both gloved paws! *Clack-topple!* The hefty noggin wobbled, slipped off the slick paper edge, and rolled half a turn, pinning the tip of my green vest flat against the mahogany table. I ended up sprawled on my stomach, nose-to-snout with the shiny golden grin!
