Breeze on the Railing
The glass door was open just a crack, letting in cool, stirring air... I crept through the gap, paws padding quietly over warm balcony tiles. Outside felt... so wide? Right beside the railing, a dark metal plant stand reached upward toward the sky. I paused, tilting my head to study the curved iron rungs. Very slowly, I reached up with both long arms to test the metal. Cool, solid, and steady. With a firm grip and a gentle pull, I hoisted myself up onto the top shelf beside a leafy terracotta pot. Far below, little cars hummed past in the afternoon sun. I rested my paws on the pot's rim, quietly watching.
