The Rolling Spool Chase

I noticed an old round wooden door knob bumper sticking out from the wall near a dusty woven laundry hamper. Right beside it lay a smooth green plastic spool with a loose tail of shiny pink string. I tucked the string tail firmly under the rubber rim of the bumper, then gave the plastic spool a vigorous, two-handed shove! It took off spinning down the hallway floorboards, unspooling a bright pink ribbon road that whipped and vibrated with a sharp *zip-zip-zip* across the wood. Mango and Stud would have sprinted right alongside me to see where our neon trail ended!#Xdemon
